Revenge films are generally a mixed bag, and this is no exception. For every excellent one-on-one confrontation, there is at least another "meet-some-minor-character-with-a-slight-amount-of-information" scene or a scene with needless exposition to kill the pace.

Michael Caine is at his ass-kicking best in this movie, which makes for fun watching even if the plot is generic and slow at times.
