Review of Get Carter (1971) by Kaj W — 03 Oct 2009

Nasty gangster-film with that rough 70's style. The rude and distant atmosphere in the film almost turns against on itself at some point and there's not a single decent person in the story, not even Carter (Michael Caine) himself.

So you could say the film is sometimes even too cold and grim, but the movie manages to hold it together and doesn't alienate the audience until the bitter end.
