Review of Gerry (2002) by Derek N — 21 Aug 2007
Like the two other "Death Trilogy" films (Elephant and Last Days), it uses incredibly long takes, hypnotic cinematography and an almost entire absence of plot to alter your interpretive and even perceptual habits--it is as close as one can get to actually being lost in a desert yourself.
It's amazing, although I wished I'd seen it in a theatre.
