Review of Gentleman's Agreement (1947) by Tyler H — 12 Mar 2013
At first I was apphrensive about watching this movie but it is worth watching just for the fact of a slice of time of the : gentlemen's agreement : which is a sad and pitiful excuse for dealing with a jewish person it is simply a way to disguise prejudice in the fact that it was what was come to be expected it was a gentlemen's agreement and even if it hurt the person it was directed to the person went with it for the sake of business b/c well that is when it came up the most was with handling business matters.
gregory peck is great as always as a character that gets his eyes opened to what his jewish friend john garfield deals with on a regular basis. not a big john garfield fan but there was times where he brought such raw passion and bitterness to the role that you just wanted to hug him and make him feel better.
:( almost felt liked he had lived those times and was no longer acting. I mean wow! the whole movies lives an indeliable impression.
