Review of Gentleman's Agreement (1947) by Sophie B — 21 Mar 2014
I thought that this film contained an excellent idea brought to life by brilliant acting. Gregory Peck was particularly superb, and I have to mention the fashion-conscious costumes of the time - shoulders galore amongst men and women.
Furthermore, the film, despite it's complicated nature, served to amplify one important message; equally, the significance of Green receiving counsel from so many female characters was interesting (but to be later explored/watched again to comment further): accept others as they are and accept yourself for who you are - your religion, looks, race, position, social class, wealth - the whole lot.
All in all, it wasn't toO heavy to watch instead of the lighthearted comedy I'd been promised by Mama. (Need to watch again).
