Review of Gattaca (1997) by Janson S — 03 Feb 2012
Chilling and almost unbearably suspenseful, this stylish sci-fi thriller provides a warning about the dangers of genetic engineering that's as relevant as ever. The heavily symbolic scene where Eugene (paralyzed from the waist down) attempts to drag himself up a double-helixical spiral staircase deserves to be one of the most significant moments in 90's sci-fi.
