Review of Gattaca (1997) by Bisola I — 04 Feb 2015
A film that's almost prophetic when you consider that it was made almost 20 years ago and we now live in a word where scientists have now developed the technology that enables them mess around with the genes of a baby. I love the understated and elegant way the story unfolds. The sibling rivalry, the determination of one man to succeed and fulfil his dreams, the realisation at the end that there were people rooting and doing their bit in the background to help him make it all along and their hopes would've died if hadn't.
This film deserves way more recognition than it has had to date. Definitely one that's close to my heart.
