Review of Gaslight (1944) by Orlok W — 09 Aug 2014
Its story is not as complex as you might wish and the ending is a bit disappointing, but Gaslight greatly benefits from simply wonderful cinematography and art direction, suspenseful story and a fantastic performance from Charles Boyer and especially superb Ingrid Bergman who probably gives her career-best performance here.
It is a thrilling, artistic and highly amusing thriller and certainly the best Hitchcock film that he never made.
