Review of Gaslight (1944) by Alan Z — 20 Jan 2015
Perhaps Cukor is mostly known as a "Women's director", but this movie proves that he was much more than that. He could take any play to adapt it so masterfully to the screen only to make us realize what a talented filmmaker he was.
"Gaslight" has its moments of tension, insanity and beauty just as it is meant to be, also stained with those accurate performances by the main cast; Boyer, Bergman and Cotten.
