Review of Gaslight (1944) by Joe M — 12 Nov 2018
One of the all time great psychological suspense thrillers! The movie rise to such level by the outstanding performances by Boyer as the one 'gaslighting' his victim Bergman who matches him with her near descent in to madness.
And the rest of the cast - Lansbury, Everest, Cotten and Whitty - all provide outstanding support. And the set - the house is spectacular as the claustrophobic surrounding that Bergman is trapped in. One of Cukor's finest works and well deserving of high praise.
