Review of Gangster No. 1 (2000) by Jay L — 30 May 2010
A film that was made to pay homage to Malcolm McDowell's legendary role in "A Clockwork Orange" gangster number 1 is solid movie. Directed by Paul McGuigan, and starring Malcolm McDowell, Paul Bettany, and David Thewlis, this movie is quite violent.
It is the story of a ruthless gangster in london during the 1960's, and his rise to power. Paul bettany is absolutely chilling as the vicious crime lord as a young adult, and the always great Malcolm mcdowell as the crime lord after the years have gone by.
Recommended to any gangster movie fan, although it's not the best movie of the crime genre, it's certainly not the worst. Blatantly gets it's point across, too much ambition corrupts the soul.
