I experienced a beautifully restored print of this movie with all its colorful splendor. Filmed in India in the 1950s, I'm sure it opened up the world to the sights, colors and mythology of an exotic land.
Ahead of its time for exploring inter-ethnic relationships and cultural clashes it explores love, death and the notion of rebirth.
