Review of Fury (2014) by James D — 20 Mar 2015
One of the best war films of recent memory, and one of the best possibly the last two decades. An all star cast, led by the always great Brad Pitt. I feel like he was born for these kinds of roles; a leader, funny, mean, pushy, and yet feels emotion of sadness when he has to.
The rest of the cast is equally incredible, which surprised me because I've never been a Logan Lerman fan or a Shia LaBeouf fan. But for some reason they both shined in this film. It's a great film, that's bloody, sad, disturbing, and revealing.
It's passionate, and has a ton of heart, will make you laugh, cry, and be proud that you live in the best damn country in the world. Watch it, again and again and again. You'll love it. From the acting, to the plot, to the writing, to the action and feeling like you are in the war yourself.
"Fury" isn't to be missed. 4/5 JD.
