Review of Furious 7 (2015) by Chloe A — 05 Aug 2015

It's amazing how vastly different the series is now compared to how out it all started. The changes have most definitely been for the better, and much of the credit should go to Justin Lin for steering the franchise in the right direction (after a few false starts with earlier sequel attempts).

"Furious 7" not only marks the first film with a change in director since Lin, but it also is notable for being Paul Walker's last ride as one of the main heroes of the franchise. So the filmmakers undoubtedly had their work cut out for them - not only to win the fans' approval, but to exceed their feverishly high expectations too.

Somehow, James Wan and the gang manage to pull off not only an exciting new chapter in the long-running "Fast & Furious" series but also an astonishingly fitting (and tear-jerking) goodbye to Walker's character.

I mean, once those credits went up, there was not a dry eye in the theater... so kudos to the studio, cast, and crew for treating this film with the amount of love and respect that they did, rather than racing ahead to "meet a deadline" or capitalize on a tragedy.

Kudos, guys.
