Review of Furious 7 (2015) by Lesmiserables — 10 Dec 2020

In the closing moments of Fast 6 I was like "Yeah I'm done with these movies" and then out of nowhere one of my favorite actors Jason Statham appears out of nowhere and off's Han so enter the "Just when I was out they pull me right back in meme".

So the movie starts off relatively well you see . Jason Statham is the brother of now comatosed Owen Shaw who is the villain and one of the few good aspects of Fast 6 . He begins to wreck everybody including The Rock who was out for the majority of the movie which good god was it a blessing And then predictably it all goes to hell . Street racing? None existent , the action scenes? somehow even dumber than Fast 6 which is some f'n achievement and the characters? More OP than ever before surviving ridiculous situation after ridiculous situation.

The above would cripple any movie BUT it doesn't end there . Deckard Shaw (Statham) is supposed to be this top of the line assassin that nobody can catch right? So I wouldn't mind if he lost to Dom's crew due to the numbers game . They could have made this movie serious and sad by having Deckard kill more characters until he eventually falls but no instead we have this goon squad that chases him that get their ass constantly handed to them and the reason? Got to have more cameos like Tony Jaa of course! who is cool but I'm sorry that I'm not invested in him fighting Paul f'n Walker god bless his soul.

Speaking of cameos and Paul Walker . First why is Ronda Rousey in this movie? To have a fight with Michelle Rodriguez and to an extend lose? lmao as if Gina Carano wasn't enough in the previous movie . As for Walker the director did an admirable job despite his death during filming and the final tribute him was really heartwarming This movie could have been excellent . Tone down the stupid crap like driving a car skyscraper to skyscraper , have Deckard kill more people , remove the goon squad completely , remove the stupid rotating camera angles and most importantly it should have ended this travesty of a series that keeps on getting cash grab sequel after sequel that somehow someway everyone finds a way to love which baffles the ever living hell out of me ...

I'm done . Seen parts of Fast 8 and it's a 1/10 movie .
