Review of From Here to Eternity (1953) by Scott K — 25 Dec 2007
Often spoofed, but hard to duplicate. Great performances from Montgomery Clift, Burt Lancaster, Ernest Borgnine and the Oscar to Frank Sinatra. Sinatra's role in this film was the inspiration for the plot in The Godfather with Johnny Fontaine and the horse's head in the producer's bed.
Regarless, the film is very well-done, and inspires emotions from anyone with a clue vis-a-vis Pearl Harbor. Great movie!
