"You're already married to the Army." It is a Hollywood cliché about the dedication of American soldiers and the problems of women in their lives. Although the title of the movie suggests a strong love from here to eternity, actually comes from the song "Lord Rankers" of English writer, Nobel laureate, Rudyard Kipling dedicated to the soldiers of the British Empire, who "lost their way" and they are cursed "from here to eternity.
