Review of From Dusk Till Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money (1999) by Andrew M — 19 Jun 2007
Not as bad as others say but still pretty goddamn bad. I'm ashamed to say I liked Scott Spiegel's other movie, Intruder, after watching this. Still, Robert Patrick escapes with dignity in tact and for the few scenes where South Africa passes for the gemuine Mexico locations of the first movie, it gets the atmosphere right.
But whereas the first movie was an out and out party for the last half and a more standerd Tarantino movie for the first half, this is kind of like Reservoir Dogs with a handful of Lost Boys thrown in, then thrown down the toilet while a fat texan who's just eaten a giant bowl of chili relieves himself over the negative.
No, no, no. They should have done a prequel about Sex Machine or Frost, without the vamps, or a huge sequel with Clooney. Or, you know, moved on.
