Review of Fritz the Cat (1972) by Nathan W — 24 Aug 2005
This is the infamous X-rated cartoon feature based on Robert Crumb's comic book character (although Crumb himself disowned this adaptation). Surprisingly enough, this film is incredibly perceptive about the political and social climates of the swingin' '60s, and the colorful caricatures are amusing.
The animation techniques have aged considerably, but this is still vibrant and colorful. Skip the sequel, "The Nine Lives of Fritz the Cat.".
