Review of Fritz the Cat (1972) by Senor C — 06 Dec 2006
Crumb may have hated what happened to his creation in film form (enough to kill him off in the comix) but I dig it (I have since for about 16-17 years now and is better if you're familure w/ the era).
More than just a 'dirty' cartoon but rather some biting and groovy satire. Cat, crow and pig sterotypes may seem unexcusably racist now but those were heavy times for civil unrest. My favorite Bakshi flix along w/ Coonskin.
