Review of Fright Night (1985) by Kevin H — 04 Mar 2010
A halfway decent vampire tale, Fright Night is a lot of fun while still retaining the horror elements it has to. Anchored by strong performances from Roddy McDowall, William Ragsdale, Amanda Bearse and Chris Sarandon, and some tight direction by Tom "Child's Play" Holland, this film does not fail to surprise and excite.
I could have done without the absolutely annoying Stephen Geoffreys but even his character serves a purpose. Some great 80's schlock rock in the nightclub and some genuinely funny moments take this one a notch above mediocrity.
