Review of Fright Night (1985) by Nyk P — 29 May 2010
Fright Night was a movie that I had real high expectations for. However, I was slightly disappointed when I watched this movie and I still feel that it is a really over-rated vampire movie. It fits perfectly into the 80s horror cheese kinda' thing but it really did lack seriousness in scenes that depended on it.
The acting was really bad (although Chris Sarandon manages to prove that he actually has a fair bit of talent...) One aspect of the movie I did like however were the make-up effects. I found the vampire make-up really clever seeing as it makes a change to see a more exaggerated vampire compared to Bela Lugosi's costume in Dracula.
