Review of Free in Deed (2017) by Brent_Marchant — 10 Sep 2017
An ambitious, frequently heartwrenching tale of faith and the elusive search for understanding our relationship to the divine, featuring an excellent ensemble cast and all put together on a shoestring budget.
While the film could have used some judicious editing to eliminate some narrative redundancies, this fact-based drama is otherwise gripping and engaging, even if a bit hard to watch at times. The answers we seek in life aren't always easy, but they often surprise us, taking us in unexpected directions and delivering results that don't necessarily match the form of our hopes but that invariably embody their essence.
