Review of Free in Deed (2017) by Richardgonci — 10 Sep 2016
I have to stand with the positive reviewers on this one. Quite a moving story, especially in the current climate of fear and intolerance. I would only fault it on a couple of fronts: It could have benefited from tighter editing; and the secondary more contemporaneous parallel story is introduced a little late in the game by my reckoning.
Matthew McConaughey continues to delight me with ever-more nuanced performances. I contend this movie is well worth the extended viewing time.
