Review of Free Fire (2017) by Jaime L — 16 Jun 2017
Started out with great promise, had some humor, a little character introduction with distinct personalities and I was hoping for a Guy Richie lite film. Unfortunately when things go into the crapper and they all start shooting at each other the quality drops fast.
Frankly I got rather tired of the firefight as it dragged on, only so much can be squeezed out of it and all the fun disappeared fast and became repetitive. Also got rather silly, no doubt was supposed to be "funny" but again it was just tiresome, same with the double crosses.
Free Fire seems to be all style, with characters that could have been memorable with more development but alas none is given. Then since the firefights became dull I couldn't fall back on that to make up for the characters.
Average film.
