Review of Frank (2014) by Gill A — 02 May 2014
Saw this last night as part of the 2014 Montclair Film Festival. Brilliant comedy that also works as a character study. At first, you're freaked out at Frank - what kind of weirdo wears a giant head 24/7? But as the film progresses, you discover the kind of life Frank has had, and maybe he doesn't seem so weird anymore.
Incredible performance by Michael Fassbender as the titular character, and great performances by Domhnall Gleeson (who is the "audience proxy, " Jon, in this film) and Maggie Gyllenhall as Clara, another eccentric member of Frank's band.
This is due out for limited release in August, and I encourage everyone to go see this. Great stuff!
