Review of Four Rooms (1995) by David F — 05 Feb 2013
Its not for everyone, but I thoroughly enjoyed this film. Yes, it is about nothing and makes little to no sense, but it shouldn't, its a film about four different episodes each involving the bellhop.
This film recreates the 60s Hollywood Hotel Scene very well. The only flaw really is the bellhop character is a bit confusing, there is something "off" about him that I can't really put a solid word on, Tim Roth adds a very unique personality to the character that I wasn't crazy about, because it was a bit all over the place.
What I found very interesting was the acting, the characters would pause almost, space between their actions to make their acting almost seem surreal, I'm not sure what the correct term would be but it animated their characters more in a way.
Overall I found this film to be very enjoyable, mainly because of how creative it was, not your everyday comedy.
