Review of Four Minutes (2005) by Paul K — 29 Jan 2011
A German film, and boy, does it show. Unlike Seraphine, which is too cool to feel the pain of its protagonist, in this beauty, you hurt from beginning to end. It's all about wasted lives, drab brutal environments, violence and beauty.
It's actually a very moving and beautiful film, but very hard to watch, and I came away feeling so glad not to be German. Thanks for the steer, Ulrike.
