Review of Forrest Gump (1994) by Skyview B — 24 Jan 2014

Forrest Gump is a man with good intentions but has an IQ of only 75. Between the mid to late 1900's he happens to be in every major historical event and manages to survive with nothing more than his luck and his honesty. Forrest falls this girl named Jenny. Jenny leaves Alabama and Forrest to go on the road with her friends. During this time Forrest joins the army. He meets an unusual friend named Bubba. They become the best of friends, but unfortunately Bubba did not have the same luck as Forrest when it came to returning home. Upon Forrest's return, he picks an unusual hobby to occupy his time, Ping pong. Forrest's life was truly one of a kind. He got a football scholarship, ran for almost 3 years, and met the President of the United States on many occasions.

This movie was very entertaining. I believe this movie was made to entertain, but also had a bit of a theme. This movie showed a lesson about how you can overcome anything, any obstacle, if you,are willing to be with the one you love. It also shows no matter how dumb you are, or no matter what kind of disability you have, you can accomplish amazing things.

This film was also amazing because of what went on behind the scenes. If were not for this movies spectacular lighting and camera shots, this movie would not be as good as it was. One of the best camera shots this movie had is when Forrest was visiting his mothers brave, and it was a low angle shot with the light of the sun coming down through the tree. This movie did a great job if keeping the shots interesting to keep the viewer awake.

This is one of my favorite movies. Mostly because I can relate to most of it. I love this movie because it has drama, romance, it's funny, and it's got action. Although this movie was not based on a true story, Forrest Gump inspires me to go above and beyond what I think I can do.
