Strong special effects and a great adaptation of the Tempest. It is much more intelligent the usual scifi fare from the 50's. Though it isn't perfect. The movie suffers from the coventional acting and directing found in most 50-60's era Hollywood movies.
Oh, and that monster is awesome.
