Review of Forbidden Planet (1956) by Andy C — 02 Oct 2008
Simply genius. From the all electronic score (the first of it's kind), to the incredible effects for it's time, to the thought provoking story, this is Sci-Fi at it's best.
Loosely-nased on Shakespear's The Tempest, it comments on man's evolution versus his baser instincts. The director took great care with extrapolating the science and sought help from various scientists of the day.
