Review of For a Few Dollars More (1965) by Raaj C — 14 Jul 2013
Normally, movie sequel intend to suck. I mean it is just not as good as the original film, right? Well, "For a Few Dollars More" is apparently MUCH better than "A Fistful of Dollars".
Sergio Leone not only recaptures those badass moments from the original, but improved and delivered one hell of a bloody sequel. Our favorite Laconic Bounty Hunter is back, but this time he is not alone.
He has to take down an escaped convicted from committing more acts of crime. With the help of a Colonel turned Bounty Hunter, the Man with No Name must find how to work as a team this time. Like the original, this film does a great job in capturing the smooth and glowing world of the wild west.
The performances were just like the original, pure amazing. Clint Eastwood doesn't fail again and so does our villain of the film. El Indio, played by Gian Maria Volonte played a MUCH better villain than the one he played in the original.
He had a better back story and was more emotional than his portrayal as Ramon. Lee Van Cleef, played a terrific partner to The Man with No Name. He was badass and had the exact same awesome moments Eastwood has in this film and the other combined.
Like the original film, I was never bored with this movie. It was just another pitch perfect Western film that deserves to be put on the big screen again. The action was bloodier, the story was much more personal, and the end fight scene was just as good as the end fight from the original.
I'd say you go see this film....like now......as soon as you are done watching "A Fistful of Dollars.".
