Review of For a Few Dollars More (1965) by Harvey T — 22 Feb 2014
The thing I love about Leone's westerns is that they feel like so much more than a western. They have richer characterizations and plots than just archetypes and cliches. This is a hell of a movie.
It might be the best of the so-called "Man With No Name" or "Dollars" Trilogy. Lee Van Cleef is just as badass as Eastwood is. Morricone's score is pretty awesome too, I love the motif of the little watch jingle.
I enjoyed every minute of this one, and while "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly" is a great classic epic western...this one is probably my favorite of the three.
