Review of For a Few Dollars More (1965) by Tony P — 26 Oct 2017
Quality Leone. Each of his westerns are great for the same reasons, but each have some distinctive qualities that keep them from meshing together. For a Few Dollars More probably has the most concise plot, giving room for radical editing and extended action sequences.
The score is a more elaborate rendition of the Fistful of Dollars theme, and this time is mixed with the haunting tinkle of a music box. This music box is weilded by the villain, El Indio, who is one of the most striking antagonists I've ever seen.
In fact, it was pleasing to see that Lee Van Cleef could relinquish his villainous presence and play an anti-hero.
