Review of Footloose (1984) by Peter W — 13 Oct 2011
Footloose is a coming-of-age classic in my eyes, as the new kid on the block (Kevin Bacon) tries to fit in to a school where fights are a day-to-day routine. It is obviously predictable, but the story is so deeply heartwarming and charming that it becomes an irresistible celebratory phenomenon for the ages.
The acting is great, the dancing is spectacular for it's time, and the motions are spewing like wild-fire. This is one 80's classic that I will never forget and will be able to watch over and over again.
With extravagant dance sequences, loveable characters, a great (yet predictable) premise, and a conclusion that will literally send chills down your spine and "Cut Loose". Footloose is awesome in every sense of the word, and I love it!
