First off I want to say this film certainly gave some perspective on foods we eat and alternative methods for disease control and prevention. More importantly what no one has mentioned yet is the simple fact that drug companies do control the hospitals and methods doctors take to "cure" an illness. The healthy industry is more about money than about the people.

This is America; it's always really been about the money. Why is it that billions of dollars go into medical research such as finding the cure for cancer or HIV/AIDS but no real solution has come about? This could just be my own personal conspiracy theory but aren't both of those conditions just population control? Aren't they just another way to keep the human population from growing to the point of destroying themselves? Why would the government want to get rid of such a thing when it's bringing in billions of dollars in chemo therapy, radiation, drugs and therapy? I'm just looking at this from a point of view where if I was them why would I want to cure something that is bringing in an incredible amount of money. So my take on this film was sure there are these alternative methods of curing and preventing illness such as large doses of Vitamin C and taking Niacin. Why wouldn't doctors want to approve or use these methods? It seems pretty simple why. The answer I believe is it would take away from the drug companies. Think of it like the mobsters are the drug companies and they say "alright doctors we'll give you these drugs but don't you dare try and look for other options and most certainly don't use anyone else or we'll take all the financial backing we've put into this hospital." I mean sure this is an extreme situation but there still has to be some truth in it.

I think the reason people would disagree or think the film was bologna is because nobody talks about these kinds of things. You don't see them in the media because it's so controversial. Now I haven't seen many studies or major proof on any of this so I'm not saying its fact, it's simply just something that sounds pretty plausible to me. I have no idea what Erik P.s review is even about, it really sounds like some ill-informed child pouting because he didn't get his toy in his Happy Meal. They never said that an apple will cure cancer, haha. My opinion is excess amounts of just about anything from food to cigarettes to alcohol to chemicals have been linked to cancer so wouldn't it be at least somewhat truthful to say that an excess of these things being taken into the body was that persons fault and why they have cancer? I'm not taking into account genetics. Erik P. it's not true that since we've processed foods humans are living longer healthy lives. Show me a study where that is true and I will believe it otherwise don't spout false information.

Look at the Japanese population. They have little no risk of breast cancer or many other ailments due to their diet, exercise and overall wellbeing. Also, that Wonder Bread that you eat is probably one of the worst things for ya, haha. Sure the foods at Whole Foods or Trader Joes is very pricey, partly because people are willing to spend that much and second a lot of the products aren't produced as cheaply as the commercial products you can get for pennies on the dollar. Some things I did want to point out is I can agree that at the end of the film I was certain it was going to, like some have said, have a 1-800 number. Well wouldn't you know it if you go to there website they are full of BUY THIS BUY THAT. And I will agree that most of the super foods are very pricey. Than again they are imports and most imports are pricey so it's not unreasonable that they are as pricy as they are. If we started cultivating them in the US than I can see prices drop dramatically. David C. brings up some good points, the evidence supporting that these solutions work wasn't clearly defined in this film. Maybe it was because they weren't allowed to or just simply didn't have it available. If this is however a "propaganda film" as Erik P put it than what a waste of all of those people's time, money and research. It's hard to believe that 100's of people would go to that effort to produce a bogus film that so accurately describes the problems our species faces. When it comes to eating organic, it's pricey as well unless you grow your own. The reason why organic foods won't work for everyone is the spoiling factor. We can't grow something in California and ship it to New Jersey without some spoiling already going on.

The foods you buy in the supermarkets are treated to prevent rapid spoilage. For me, I love the taste and feeling I get from eating organic. For example, if you eat a carrot from the supermarket that isn't organic and then eat a carrot from your garden or just an organic one you will taste a dramatic difference. The organic carrot will have a stronger bitter flavor which is the beta carotene. The non-organic one has a more juicy feeling but not as bitter. Much of the nutrients, beta carotene, were lost either due to the chemicals being pumped into it or the way it was grown. Try it out, you'll taste the difference. I wonder if this review has become ridiculously long like David C.'s review. I'm sure I could go on and on about my thoughts and ideas about this film.

Anyways, I just want to say this film was an interesting take on food. It is published in many places that eating organic is not only good for you but can reduce the risk of getting a severe illness.
