Review of Follow That Bird (1985) by Andy L — 20 Sep 2009
I saw this years ago, when I was a mere boy, and enjoyed it. A couple of years a go I bought it for my Daughter.
As a result of this, I've now seen it hundreds of bloody times and could probably recite most of it if required.
Despite this, it's still entertaining for the most part. True, the Dodo's are a bunch of wankers and Miss Finch is a pain in the ass, but this aside, there's still much to enjoy.
Bert & Ernie are legends in their own time, The Count is a fine upstanding Gentleman, Mr Snuffleupagus is a good lad, and Grouch, Grover and Cookie Monster are for want of a better word, The Bollocks.
The songs are not bad and the puppetry is outstanding. It's just a shame there was never a sequel. A fine example of how Sesame Street was much better before it was hijacked by that by that little bugger Elmo.
