Review of Follow That Bird (1985) by James K — 01 May 2010
I, being born in 1992, did not ever get to watch the classic Sesame Street of the 60s-80s. I therefore found this movie quite interesting, because it showed a bunch of Sesame Street characters I remembered hearing about, but never really remembered SEEING. It was also kinda weird seeing the Sesame Street gang in your typical mid-80s setting, which I've become familiar with thru other 80s movies I've watched (I like watching older movies).
Some of the content seemed a little unnatural for the series, but then again, I grew up watching the show in the 90s, and apparently that's when things started to change a little bit. So I'm probably just not used to the atmosphere of the earlier years.
Despite all of this, though, I liked it! 4/5 stars.
P.S.: Once in one of the first couple scenes, and then again near the end of the film, you can see Elmo VERY briefly, not even saying a word!
Boy, how times have changed!
