Review of Flirting with Disaster (1996) by Scott C — 17 Apr 2013
This is one of those films that tries entirely too hard to be funny. If it had just played on the neurosis of its main character and the odd situation that he was in as he searched for his birth parents, it would have been entertaining. However, instead it throws in so many curve balls that instead of a comedy of errors, it becomes complete and total chaos.
I did enjoy seeing a young Ben Stiller who is clearly giving it everything he got. Unfortunately, the supporting cast doesn't pitch in and the writing and direction does nothing to help.
