Review of Flirting with Disaster (1996) by Asim D — 16 Nov 2004
One of the most purely enjoyable films you can watch, Flirting With Disaster is yet another solid entry into David O. Russell's canon of work. A master of controlled chaos, he concocts one of the most absurd, yet believable scenarios about a young man (Ben Stiller) in search of his true parents.
The film is reminscent of the classic screwball comedies of the 50's. The pace is breakneck, the jokes come fast and from all directions, and unlike most comedies the film gets funnier as it progresses.
