One star for the oh-so-stereotypical scenario(a religiously devout exotic dancer aspiring to national ballet, c'mon guys!) and one star for sexy Jennifer Beals. This is trash as trash can be, but a notch classier then Showgirls(Shue's character didn't really care for high art).

One of the four top dance films of all time. Of course, in the end all works out(the 80's again) and you wish it was one of those Scandinavian films where everyone's fucked up ad can't do anything about it.
