Review of Flashdance (1983) by Michael H — 23 Mar 2012

Flashdance, What a bad feeling. This is a film just like the driller killer which has no plot, makes no sense and comes to a abrupt ending. So I cannot tell you the plot of this film. But I can say that Gogioer Morerder's score is great and the choreography is fresh with good songs. I also can say its slightly better then driller killer and footlose. But this doesn't help the movie in any way be good. It is a mediocre entertainment that will sort of keep you a little quiet. Jennifer Beals is so confused on what the script is telling her to do. I can imagine the draedful conversations about trying to change the script had on her. Her character is so careless. I mean, this guy gets her a invitation to the dance academy and she flips about it, she throws a rock at his house for hard reasons to describe, she slaps him making the blinds unfold the window, they get into a fight and then somehow they are friendly now. WHO CARES? Alex and Nick are not meant to be together. She becomes sort of a rotten character in the third act being all meanspirited. The ending is abrupt. All that happens makes no sense still as she dances to the awesome theme song of this film and gets into the academy and then Nick is there to congratulate her and then all of a sudden they are in love again. WHY!? The writer must have been a special needs person desperatly trying to make money on a sometimes sezuristic cheesy dance movie. I can't really reccomend this film. I just wish I could find a good musical nowadays...
