Review of Flags of Our Fathers (2006) by Prashant W — 13 Apr 2013
I think when compared to its sister film, Letters From Iwo Jima is much more impactful and harrowing, whereas Flags Of Our Fathers tends to want to tell a quieter story. Walking the line between a behind the scenes re-telling of a famous historical moment and a dramatic piece of war drama, at times it doesn't know which camp is has both feet in.
But overall, it's a great example piece of late-Eastwood directorial work. Standout performance from Adam Beach.
