Review of Flags of Our Fathers (2006) by Mikeh. — 15 Nov 2006
A great film that highlighted the brutality of war and the mechanisms used to manipulate the national conscious for whatever purpose. Full credit to Eastwood for creating the movie with enough sensitivity to respect those who fought, yet not resorting to clumsy attacks on the governments of the time.
Adam Beach was incredible, although general character development was lacking, probably sacrificed in favour of pursuing the issue rather than the stories of the men themselves.
