Review of Flags of Our Fathers (2006) by Jon F — 23 Oct 2017
This movie has a strong cast of war movie veterans, but it really doesn?t feel like it was very well put together. The movie jumps back and forth, from past to present, early in the war to later, in the midst of the battle to ending.
Then it?s being told to the son of one of the Marines about half way through. It really seemed like this movie wanted to tell so much, but was limited to its 2 hour and 10 min runtime. It never finds a rhythm and I left feeling more confused than when I started.
I never connected with any of he characters because they were shuffled into and out of the spotlight so fast.
