Review of First Man (2018) by Pepe D — 18 Oct 2018
I'm generally not harsh with movies, and am know for watching and enjoying "average" or even trashy movies and finding enough fun/entertainment/value to give them at least a 6/10. This one I didn't enjoy, honestly.
Badly filmed at times (not on the important parts aka space parts, mind you), the camera carries more feeling that Ryan Gosling's impassibility. Which I couldn't stand. Granted, he's portraying a somewhat historically known insensitive dick, but even then.
.. Not the right cast choice in my opinion. At any rate, a story that's know well enough that you can only enjoy it if it immerses you in its tension, although it somewhat manages to do it, it doesn't do it well enough to have your skin crawl, as it should when you watch humanity's first step on the moon.
