Review of First Blood (1982) by Peter S — 19 Nov 2012
The whole premise of the movie seemed to require a suspense of belief. There would be no way this movie would be done today. A man wanders into a town the sheriff "not liking the look of him" picks him up and tells him not to come back and then gets angry when the man refuses to comply and do arrests him for really no reason.
After they get back to the police station the man is then harassed until beaten even after the other odeputies see that he is a war veteran. Taking it as a challenge to break his stoicism the police proceed to beat him until he has flash backs as a POW and reverts into beating everyone to escape.
One of the deputies takes this so personally he tries to murder Rambo on the middle of the city. And it goes on... The action is well paced but the premise is super weak.
