Review of Final Justice (1984) by Keith R — 13 Mar 2011
Joe Don Baker plays a meaty, Texas sheriff named Thomas Jefferson Geronimo the third... A bumbling, meaty, Texas-centric jackass whose distorted world view and meaty sense of justice lead him to the rocky island of Malta where he subsequently begins shooting up the population in his search for some Italiany, mobbed up guido.
In reality there's only about a half hour's worth of actual material in this film. Grey Don Clark (of Hobgoblins fame) simply repeats the following formula approximately 5 times...
1. Joe Don Baker wanders Malta with his female lead/ tour guide, making Texas based observations.
2. Joe Don Baker gets into scuffle with locals.
3. Joe Don Baker blames scuffle on Polermo (the villain) and begins looking for Polermo.
4. Maltese law enforcement intervene and force Joe Don Baker to cool his heels in a jail cell.
5. Maltese police chief releases Joe Don Baker and tells him to take the next flight home, and in the meantime stay in his hotel room.
6. Joe Don Baker leaves hotel room.
7. See number 1.
Sandwich this between his partner getting shot and then Polermo getting shot and you have a movie!
