Review of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children (2005) by Jack A — 16 Sep 2009
As much as it pains me to say it. This movie just did not work. With the epic made up of the video games, this just seemed to be unnecessary, almost as if it was a cheap way out. The fight scenes were classically Final Fantasy, and I could watch them over and over, cause no body does a good-old-modern sword fight like the guys over at Square Enix.
Yes. Crisis Core for the PSP showed me that you can have a spin off to the original which makes sense, and actually adds to the original story line, and although this arguable does, it did not make a whole lot of sense.
I have not seen the extra 40 minutes. I hope that that will change my mind. For the characters are so great, but in this movie, they made them almost feel cold.
