Review of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children (2005) by Cj O — 21 Dec 2011
First time I have seen anything from Final Fantasy. I enjoyed it, though it was a bit difficult to follow the story line, which isn't unusual when a westerner watches a Japanese film. Some critics say that it's just filled with a lot of action, and that any underlying message is disolved in the fireworks.
But I disagree on that point. I caught the underlying message, and I thought it mixed very well with the action, especially aided with the esthetic kind of flashbacks the film makers deployed. It could be that my asian genes is more adapted to watching asian movies than my fellow westerners?
